Black Friday + Christmas tree lightening

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving

What are you thankful for

***

Part 2: Gina's house

Gina

I'm grateful for my friends.

(Black Friday)

Happy Ending

Halloween

One of my favorite western festival.

This month is all about Halloween. So excited that I can experience it in the US.

There are so many Halloween stuff all around the stores.

Every time when I went to dollar tree, I wanted to buy every single decoration.

On my way to school, I can see so many houses with Halloween decorations.

The first activity I attended was Frighten town. It's free since it was school activity.

This was my first time attended school event, taking the yellow school bus I always saw in movies

We went to some basement near downtown, it was my first time going out so late in the US. (excited)
There were about three or four theme there, and ghosts inside were annoying (They following you), you got scared very easily.

The second event was corn maze. This was my very first going to the activity and realized there are some other things to do beside haunted house and pumpkin craving. There weren't many people go, only about 10 on the bus.😱

Plus, there was TRAFFIC on way to the destination, made me doubt if it's right to go.

It was totally worth it even though it took a long time to find the way out. Was little bit scary when Aoi and were I in the maze ALONE and it's very dark there! Glad there wasn't any human ghosts so we could focus on finding the way.

The third event I went was pumpkin craving. I was so excited about it. It's not easy to get that big pumpkin in Taiwan. Even you found it, it wouldn't be cheap. Thanks to my best roomie Aoi invited me to go and I met some new friends too!

I didn't know it would take so much time to finish one jack o' lantern. First, you need to cut the head with different angles to make sure you can put it back later.

Not easy to clean the pumpkin inside, you hands are going to be sticky.

Next, you need to find a picture you like. I chose an owl and put it on the pumpkin and craving it with the knife.

The skin was so thick and it made it hard to crave a nice owl. It looked like we only made some round holes there but think it turned out ok.

It is a thing to wear a costume on Halloween. My American classmate, Gina, invited me to her friend's Halloween party. Aoi and I looked for our costumes just few days before the party. We decided to dressed up like clown and jester.

Its the same meaning in Chinese, but my American friend told me they are actually different.

BTW, my bestie Aoi moved in on Halloween!!! Busy day.

Another Japanese friend was going with us. We did makeup for him.

American kids do go trick or treating!! Ask Margret (my landlord) how kids know where to go. She told me as long as the light is on in the house and there are some decorations outside, they can go knock the door.

Was raining and cold out, so we decided to take a taxi. Also it's inconvenient to take public transportation to there.

On the way,  we went to a grocery store to get some beer. We got some people's attention since we dressed up. Even that, cashier still checked out ID on the counter.
